Liner Maintenance

The combustion process takes place inside the combustion Liners. It provides the main function of heat supply through a controlled combustion of large amounts of fuel and compressed air, to convert chemical energy into mechanical energy in a gas turbine. The extreme heat load requires the application of Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) inside the shell.

As a non-standard test method, Eddy current is used to identify discontinuities in certain interfaces.

The documentation of the repair characteristics must be well structured with high resolution photos attached.

During workshop visits, parts must be thoroughly cleaned by grinding or grit blasting prior to inspection so that the scope of repair work can be easily identified. Disassembly, penetrant testing with red dye, dimensional and visual inspection are carried out as part of the maintenance/repairability test.
